Criterios de Admisión

 

The Admissions Committee is made up of the School’s Deputy Director of Students and the Director of Development. This committee applies the following entrance examinations in accordance with Royal Decree 412/2014:1.

1. In the following cases:

  • Applicants with a high school diploma from the Spanish educational system or from another system declared to be equivalent.

  • Applicants with European or International Baccalaureate diplomas.

These applicants’ qualifications for admission to Tecnun School of Engineering are assessed by means of an entrance examination in Physics and Mathematics, and the applicant’s high school transcript.

Admission is granted based on the applicant’s ranking, calculated with the high school GPA (60%) and the score on the entrance exam (40%).

When the decision is uncertain, a personal interview is held with the applicant.

2. In the following cases:

  • Applicants with high school qualifications, diplomas or studies from the educational systems of EU Member States or other states with which applicable international reciprocity agreements have been signed.

  • Applicants with high school qualifications, diplomas or studies recognized as a high school diploma from the Spanish educational system obtained or completed in educational systems of non-EU Member States with which applicable international reciprocity agreements have not been signed to recognize high school diplomas.

For applicants from outside Spain, the on-site entrance examination is replaced with an online entrance examination. Admission is granted based on the following:

GPA in the last two years of high school (60%).

Report from the delegate in the home country (as applicable). To prepare the report, the delegate will attempt to hold a personal interview with the applicant.

Entrance examination. (For applicants from outside Spain, the on-site entrance examination is replaced with an online entrance examination.) (40%)

3. The following cases are also considered:

  • Applicants with official vocational training qualifications as Senior Technicians, Senior Technicians in Fine Arts and Design, or Senior Sports Technicians in the Spanish educational system, or qualifications, diplomas or studies declared to be equivalent or recognized.

  • Applicants with qualifications, diplomas or studies unlike those declared to be equivalent to diplomas from high school or vocational training qualifications as Senior Technicians, Senior Technicians in Fine Arts and Design, or Senior Sports Technicians in the Spanish educational system, obtained or completed in EU Member States or other states with which applicable international reciprocity agreements have been signed, provided these applicants meet the academic requirements for university admission of the Member State in question.

  • Applicants over the age of 25 who pass the entrance examination established in Royal Decree 412/2014. Applicants over the age of 40 with employment or professional experience in relation to a field of study. Applicants over the age of 45 who pass the entrance examination established in Royal Decree 412/2014.

  • Applicants with official university undergraduate or master’s degrees, or equivalent qualifications.

  • Applicants with official university diplomas in Building Engineering or Technical Engineering, or licentiate degrees in Architecture or Engineering corresponding to the previous system of university education, or equivalent qualifications.

  • Applicants who have partially completed university studies in Spain or abroad, or who have finished their university studies abroad, but their studies have not been recognized in Spain and they would like to continue their studies at a Spanish university. In this case, it is an essential requirement for at least 30 of the ECTS credits earned by the applicant at the corresponding university to be recognized.

  • Applicants who met the conditions for admission to the university in accordance with the different plans of the Spanish educational system prior to Organic Law 8 of 9 December 2013. These applicants’ qualifications for admission to Tecnun School of Engineering are assessed by means of an entrance examination in Physics and Mathematics, and based on the following:

1. Admission is granted based on the applicant’s ranking, calculated with the score on the entrance exam (100%).

2. A personal interview with the applicant.

All students must take an English test in the first year of the degree program. Students who do not pass level B2, which is considered necessary to attend class, are given recommendations to follow.
