The program was interesting and completely revamping a product from beginning to finished prototype was a very cool experience. Working together with the Spanish students in the class was a good idea, it taught us how to work past a bit of a language barrier to a better goal of designing a new product.
My trip to San Sebastian Spain was an experience of a lifetime. Meeting new Penn State students and exploring a foreign city together was amazing and brought us very close to each other. Not only did I make friendships with other Penn State engineers, but we also became very close to our Spanish classmates which was amazing. They showed us their home town, took us out and even invited us to their homes; meeting them also created friendships that will definitely last.
This trip was probably one of the best experiences of my life and I would highly recommend everyone to take up this opportunity. As someone who has never spoken Spanish or taken a Spanish class, traveling to Spain and learning about its culture and language was a highly rewarding experience. The friendships and memories I have from this trip will last me forever.
This trip was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. As a Spanish minor, this was my one chance to study abroad, and I learned an immense amount about the cultures and languages of Spain in the three weeks I was there. But, I think everyone on the trip (even the people who did not know a word of Spanish) had an enjoyable time and a valuable learning experience. If I could go back tomorrow I would! I wish all engineering schools were a few minutes walk away from the beach!.
The city is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the locals are so nice! You get to meet a bunch of people from Penn State who become good friends even after the trip is over. Besides going to TECNUN Penn State students who go on the trip also get to go to a winery, a bike manufacturing company, and even go surfing!.
The students were extremely welcoming of us and were so interested to learn around what the united states were like and our university. All of us were the same way about getting to know their country and how different it was. Seeing these things in movies or reading about them in books it just simply not enough, you must actually go there and meet the natives to see what it's really like and that's exactly what this experience gave to us. I would recommend this to any student in engineering who was considering it! The time away from home is so worth the overall experience and knowledge you gain from this trip.
