  • Post-doc in Societal Resilience

    Tecnun, the Engineering School of the University of Navarra seeks to fill a two year full-time, post-doc position of Industrial management department, to January 2021. Depending on performance and mutual interests, the contract may be extended to a second year.

    Candidate will work in the ENGAGE european research project funded by H2020 program within the topic DRS01: Human factors, and social, societal, and organisational aspects for disaster-resilient societies. The mission of the ENGAGE project is to provide novel knowledge and impacful solutions for exploiting Europe´s hidden and unused resource: its inherent resilience. In order to achieve that, the project will provide knowledge and solutions supporting the engagement of citizens, communities and authorities in a “whole-of-society” approach to capitalize on the knowledge, capabilities and social capital existing at all levels of society to improve resilience. ENGAGE will tap into these resources and bridge the gap between societies’ inherent resilience and the planned, formal approaches to preventing and managing disasters. Candidates should do rigorous research within the context of the project that would lead to publish excellent papers in highly indexed journals. Candidate will need to show leadership and rigor when developing the research project.

     

    Skills and qualifications required

    • Candidates will be expected to hold a relevant doctoral level research degree, and hold a distinguished academic record including internationally excellent research, demonstrating appropriate markers of academic recognition.
    • Candidates will be expected to lead the project execution and perform proactively in the development of project outcomes and to show the capacity to publish excellent papers in highly indexed journals. 
    • Candidates will be expected to have a research background in crisis management, disaster management, resilience development, societal resilience, awareness, and basic knowledge on cyber resilience.
    • Interest in the identity and mission of the University of Navarra.
